as the year runs out, Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has stated its plans for a 5-party system within the Nigerian Federation.

Currently, there are over 150 different political parties across the nation with the Major Ruling party PDP retaining its position since the advent of democracy more than a decade ago. Other opposition parties have continued to portray mixed reactions on the development  with the CPC saying it is undemocratic, the ANPP calling it a very welcome development and the ACN saying they are yet in consultations.

The Complex of Nigeria Ministry of Defense yesterday witnessed panic following a loud bang which prompted people to run for cover at the Nigeria's capital.  However following an Official statement by a Group Captain,  the explosion was cause by the mishandling of  of a gas cylinder during refilling process. No loss of life was done. 

THe NIgeria Chief of Staff charged men of the JoInt Task Force to continue to abide by the rules of engagement. Reminding them of their mandate to protect and maintain law and order.
